Applications: MOLZINC® OXI is a high-purity inorganic compound widely used in the pharmaceutical industry for its skin-protective, astringent, mild antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It is commonly used in ointments, creams, pastes, lotions, dusting powders and topical suspensions. It is widely incorporated into dermatological preparations for diaper rash, minor skin irritation, chafing and wound protection. It may also function as a pharmaceutical excipient and protective agent in various topical formulations.

1 Appearance It occurs as soft, white or faintly yellowish-white, amorphous powder, free from gritty particles.
2 Solubility It is practically insoluble in water and in ethanol (96%). It dissolves in dilute mineral acids.

(A) The yellow colour disappears on cooling.
(B) The solution gives the reaction of zinc.
4 Alkalinity If the filtrate is red, not more than 0.3 mL of 0.1 M hydrochloric acid is required to change the colour of the indicator.
5 Carbonates and substances insoluble in acids The solution is not more opalescent than reference suspension II and is colourless.
